When I first started out as an Image Consultant, it was difficult to convince people of my talent to develop and transform people. They had this perception that how a young person can teach us how to be well groomed and be polished. Well, but at least they gave me an opportunity to speak and tell them about Image Management and why it is important? Rest is history.
Today, I can proudly say that I have trained over 5500 people in over 90 Workshops and coached around 35 individuals for various fields who are almost double my age.
Clients have given me feedback such as…
“We heard you because you looked professional though young in age.”
This is what I communicate in my session “FORMA – Professionalism Workshop for Students”. Being professional is not just about looking professional it’s also about professional attitude and behaviour. You, yourself should look and feel professional first. That is like half work done. If you yourself are convinced of yourselves, it becomes easier to convince others of you and your work.
Colleges, today hardly give any emphasis on this topic which is the most important, especially when students step out in the corporate world. It is high time, that our education system include this as part of curriculum. As professionals, what are your views on this?
